Judging the Get to Know Contest! Aug. 7, 2012 Contest
The 2012 Get to Know Contest was a huge success. Youth from across North America got outside and helped celebrate their wild neighbours by creating beautiful artwork to submit to the contest. With so much fantastic original artwork being submitted it was no small task to review all the great entries and come up with their favourites. Thankfully for us, our contest judges were up to the task.
All Art and Writing submissions were reviewed by the community support and editorial team at Disney Online Studios. They had an absolute blast looking through all the submissions and said that it was quite a challenge as they were all so good! Pictures of some of their team reviewing the art category can be seen at right and below.
Photography submissions were reviewed by our friends at Panasonic Canada. By far the category with the most submissions, Panasonic sure had their work cut out for them but succeeded in picking some absolute beauties.
Video submissions were reviewed by ARKive, who are well known for producing amazing wildlife films and photos aimed to save the world's endangered species. They selected some fantastic video entries this year and we are so thrilled with how well this category overall has been received.
Lastly, music submissions were reviewed by two outstanding musicians, Joe Reilly and Calum Graham. As fellow musicians whose careers are both influenced and inspired by nature, they were perfect judges for this new category. We were thrilled with their selections and were generally overwhelmed about the great response this brand-new category received.
Please note that new works will be added to the Winners Gallery as we receive confirmations from their submitters.
