Do you really know about the natural world in PEI? Do you know what species call the ponds, the forests, the shores or even your sidewalks home? For the third annual BioBlitz, Parks Canada has planned an exciting quest to explore four ecosystems in the park through a variety of fun, family-friendly activities.

Who? Families and individuals of all ages
Join park biologists and interpreters for a fun "BioBlitz" event that will use monitoring and interactive techniques to help youth of all ages make their own natural discoveries. Do you really know about the natural world on PEI? Do you know which species call the ponds, the forests and the shores of the island home? Explore four ecosystems in the park through a variety of fun and family-friendly activities:
- Visit the "info pod" in each ecosystem to find out about the two feature species that call that habitat home.
- Help our staff conduct their monitoring activities. Be prepared to get wet and dirty!
- Help our Park ecologists find the "Most Wanted" species as you travel from one ecosystem to the next
- Bring your bike along to take advantage of the extensive trail system and to make the short distance between stations more fun!
In 2012, Prince Edward Island National Park is celebrating our 75th anniversary! We invite you to spend the morning learning about ecological integrity and how it has become a priority for Parks Canada since 1937.
